Case Study – C125 Liner Redesign

Northern Star Resources Limited, an Australian gold producer, sought improvements for their primary C125 Norberg jaw crusher to extend the life of fixed and swing liners. The current two-piece configuration caused premature wear on the middle wedges. Mining Wear Parts’ engineering team redesigned the crusher liners to a one-piece configuration, restricting unnecessary movement and upgraded the liners to heavy-duty Ceramic Metallic Inserts (CMI).

These changes resulted in a 71% increase in the life of fixed and swing jaws, providing an additional 5 weeks of usable wear life, increasing it from 7 to 12 weeks. The success of these improvements led the customer to request further assistance with liner developments for their HP6 crusher.
